A curosry glance at eBay shows replacement engines going for around £1.5-2k, then I'd probably say labour cost about £600-800 depending on the garage. I wouldn't take it to a main dealer, but try to find a Ford specialist due to the difficult nature (thanks to awful design) of the engine. I'm only putting about 5,000 miles a year on the car, so I thought it would be way too long if I waited to do the timing belt until I hit 150,000 miles. I haven't seen anything in the manual about replacing it in a certain time, but to be on the safe side I'll probably do it after about eight or nine years. The Ford 1.0 EcoBoost engine fitted to the Fiesta, Focus, B Max and some Ford Connect vans is ran by a wet belt (runs inside the engine) and Ford recommend it should be replaced at 150,000 miles or 10 years. We recommend 80,000 miles or 8 years. Teeth missing from wet belt. With a quick inspection of the damaged parts we decided it would be cheaper for the customer to fit a reconditioned engine than for us to repair his damaged engine. Ford are aware of the premature failure of their Wet Belts which on this model were due at 150,000 miles or 10 The 2021 5.0 has a timing belt too. I havent found what kind of materials the belt is made from. The 5.0L truck is still dual overhead cams, only the oil pump is driven by a belt. I believe it's steel belted like a tire. Don't quote me on that but it feels like it's pretty strong. The Ford F-150’s 2.7L EcoBoost V6 Engine is an absolute powerhouse in a very compact package. In fact, Ford coined the name “Pocket Hercules” for this engine due to its impressive power-to-size ratio. It also dominates in the fuel economy category compared to naturally-aspirated engines in the half-ton segment. 2021+ F150 - Ford Wet Belt Issue - Based on this 1.0L EB Junk engine the wet belt that drives the oil pump is trash. Not sure on the exact mileage, but most likely 52k thats written on the oil filter, but the newer 2.7EB and the 5.0 L engines use a wet belt design to drive the oil pump as well. had the wet belt done today at the independant garage i work at. just a heads up its taken all day so major job can see why ford quoted £830!!!! my mondeo has only done 82000 but is a few months under 10 years old and the wet belt is hanging to use a technical term!!! deep cracks all round the outside of the belt and signs of cracks on the From what I've seen on Ford forums, changing the 'wet belt' on an 1.0 ecoboost is very expensive. Expect to pay between £1200-1700 from a man Ford dealer and probably around £1000 if done through an independent garage. It is a very time consuming process requiring expensive special tools. Some place I've heard take the engine out to do it. Sump Pan. Water Pump Stretch Belt. 5 x Engine Mount Stretch Bolts. Engine Oil. Oil Filter. Total price for all parts supplied and fitted is £850.00. If outside of 20 miles of Newcaslte upon Tyne, our travel fee is £1.50 per mile charged one way from Newcastle upon Tyne to your post code.
