So the mercenary pay works off of influence. Someone posted a more in depth guide, but you can get paid more by donating prisoners (any, bandits, looters, soldiers or lords) to a castle or town. It doesn’t go by region or anything like that. You can also gain influence by donating troops to a garrison.

For a Legionary, the cost is 185G, plus whatever you paid for the "recruit". If you have managed to get decent relations with Towns or villages, and can recruit higher tier units the price goes like this: T1 - 20G T2 - 50G - T3 - 100G - T4 - 200G. For Cavalry its: T2 - 200 T3 - 250 - T4 - 350. Whats worth noticing here is the difference between
Tier 2: 100 cost per day. Tier 3: 200 cost per day. Tier 4: 400 cost per day. Tier 5: 800 cost per day. Here is the problem, from what i have seen nobles will purchase your services as mercenary for 50-100 gold per party defeated which is only profitable if you go only with tier 1 troops.
