bimmerfan52. 1262 posts · Joined 2012. #6 · Jul 28, 2014. During the jump starts or battery swap your ECM seems to have become confused. You might try disconnecting the negative battery cable, leave it off for at least an hour and then reconnect it and see where you are.
I cannot reset the system in my idrive. In the place where FTM should be located, my menu shows TPM instead. I understand, and have verified that I do not have the TPMS system, but rather the older FTM system. However, my idrive shows TPM which is greyed out, and will not let me select any reset options.

CD players just get old. I took mine out of the car and cranked the diode power up. It works better now but I still usually have to pop the cd in and out to get it to read. There's a trim pot by the diode that you can give a quarter turn or so to up diode power at the cost of life.

You will see a little slit and you just need to prey a little to pop the square battery cover off. Current Daily Drivers: 2010 BMW 535i xDrive w/ M Package- Carbon Schwartz on Black Leather.
thanks for any advise or help. Try below to re initializeRemote Key Re-Initialize - You will have to initialize all keys in sequence at the same time.-. Get in and "close all doors"- Turn ignition on & off quickly (no more than 5 seconds) to start the process.

The climate controls work, but without the graphics, it's ok for me since I use "auto" most of the time. Total cost was just above $3K, including everything (plastics, wiring, parts, iDrive touch controller). Having done this retrofit, I wouldn't go for the cheapest kit out there, and I would certainly not attempt to source all parts individually.
